Acquiring professionalism as a licensed real estate professional is achievable through education and professional development. Numerous agents enhance their expertise by taking courses provided by their local board and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
If you have received an email or card or checked my social media, you may have noticed the letters following my name.
Kristin Joyner, Broker, REALTOR®, CRS, GRI, ABR, CLHMS, NBC-HWC, IAYT
Over my career as a REALTOR®, I have taken several classes that have earned me designations. These acronyms in my email signature let the public know I take my job seriously as a REALTOR®.
When licensed in 1994, I became a REALTOR® or member of the National Association of REALTORS®. I am held to ethics and a high standard to maintain my membership.
Currently, I serve the Georgia Association of REALTORS® as a member of the Professional Standards Committee.
The Residential Real Estate Council oversees the designation of CRS or Certified Residential Specialist. This designation requires 30 classroom hours of training and five years of experience with a sales volume of 60 units closed or 30 million in sales.
The Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist membership is for those agents who market and sell luxury homes. I have enjoyed selling luxury homes in my market area and earned the CLHMS designation.
Being a graduate of the REALTOR Institute means I attended multiple two days of classes covering various topics on being a REALTOR. I recently finished this designation to earn the required continuing education hours. These classes were an excellent overview of the skills needed to work as a REALTOR.
The two last initials behind my name are IAYT- International Association of Yoga Therapists, and I am a board-certified health and wellness coach. So why these, you ask? I believe you need to take care of your physical body and mind to advance to your highest potential. The skill sets I gained from these advanced programs allow me to hold space for my buyers and sellers in the throws of change and give me the skill set to help agents advance their careers as licensed professionals.
The beauty of the real estate industry is that because shelter is a requirement, there are a variety of agents with different skill sets whose personalities will align with your uniqueness. We agents are here to educate and guide you through the home buying/selling process.
